Helping Fire Fighters with Cancer
Motley Rice LLC, Simmons Hanly Conroy LLC and Sullivan Papain Block McGrath Coffinas & Cannavo P.C. are proud to be an independent team of toxic tort lawyers assembled by the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) to fight for those made sick by PFAS exposure at work — and represent individual fire fighters in their potential lawsuits.
Together, Let’s Extinguish Cancer
Also called “forever chemicals,” PFAS are a group of synthetic chemicals that have been linked to cancer and other diseases. All three layers of fire fighter turnout gear contain PFAS and pose an occupational risk of illness.
“The current scientific research indicates that PFAS plays a direct role in fire fighter cancer. Combating the scourge of cancer is the IAFF’s top priority; this is a zero fail mission.”
– IAFF General President Edward A. Kelly
Nearly 75% of Deaths Involved Occupational Cancer
Three of every four names added to the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Wall in 2022 died of occupational cancer. Fire fighters battling cancer, in remission from cancer, and the families of those on the Memorial Wall deserve increased support — which is exactly what the assembled PFAS legal team will strive to provide.
Our firms, with decades of experience investigating and taking to trial companies responsible for producing toxic substances that impact the health of hardworking Americans, have been brought together by the IAFF.
Our firms are available to work hand in hand with fire fighters with cancer who qualify to file legal claims seeking the compensation they are entitled to — such as money that can help with current and future medical care and everyday living expenses.
Official IAFF Legal Team
The IAFF has selected our three nationally recognized law firms to help them address PFAS matters and to be available to be retained by members if they have become sick due to exposure to toxic levels of PFAS.
